- 2 cups long grain rice, wash and drain
- 2 tablespoon ghee
- 2 star anise
- 4 cm cinnamon stick
- 3 cardamons
- 2 cloves
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 1 tin evaporated milk
- Salt to taste
- Fried shallots for garnish
- 2 stalks spring onions, chopped

- Heat ghee in pot and fry the spices until fragrant. Add in the water and bring to boil. When boiling, stir in the tomato paste, evaporated milk, a pinch of salt and add in rice. Lower heat and cook rice until done.
- Garnish with fried shallots and chopped spring onions.
